The Inspire programme

Organisations and communities can join in the Cultural Olympiad through the Inspire programme.

The Inspire mark will be awarded across many sectors, including sport, culture, education, environment and enterprise, to outstanding, non-commercial projects that are truly inspired by the London 2012 Games.  Benefits of gaining the Inspire mark include the use of the London 2012 Inspire brand (which is part of the London 2012 brand), communications support, networking opportunities and added credibility from passing London 2012’s rigorous selection process. Cultural projects that gain the Inspire mark will become part of the Cultural Olympiad.

Inspire London: Flavours of Brent is an Inspire initiative for food stall holders and micro caterers. Participants will receive four days training in Business Creation, Development & Finance, Health & Safety, Sustainability, Marketing and a Level 2 award in Food Safety to help them prepare to take advantage of Games time opportunities.

Cultural projects must meet the following criteria to be awarded the Inspire mark:

  • Only not-for-profit organisations can apply;
  • You must have non-commercial funding and support;
  • Your project must start before 9 September 2012;
  • Your project must be mainly cultural;
  • Your project must meet London 2012’s three core values and at least three of their seven themes;
  • Your project must be inspired by the London 2012 Games and not from an existing piece of work. It must differ from the kind of work you normally do.
