London 2012 training camps

A key benefit of London as the 2012 host city is its wide range of first class sporting facilities and venues across the UK.

In preparation for 2012, National Olympic & Paralympic Committees (NOCs & NPCs) from around the world will enter into agreements with venues and facilities across the UK to host Pre-Games and Games-time training camps.

More than 600 venues have been approved by LOCOG for use as Pre-Games Training Camps and each one of them is of high quality and specifically selected to make sure that every team will have everything it needs.

LOCOG has also announced a network of Games-time training venues. These training venues are not exclusive to any NOC or NPC and will be used by athletes from more than 200 countries during Games-time to help them train and make final preparations immediately prior to and during the 2012 Games.

Business Opportunities at Pre-Games and Games-time training camps

There will be many business opportunities that will arise from National Olympic and Paralympic teams using the Pre-Games and Games-time training camps.

The National Teams will potentially require many different support services such as hotel accommodation, taxi services, couriers, mobile telephones and specialist caterers.  Businesses should consider getting in touch directly with the training camp venues as part of their business development activities.

In addition to training camps the National Olympic & Paralympic Committees will no doubt host a number of hospitality events immediately prior to and during the Games.  Businesses in those sectors should consider contacting the committees to identify opportunities to work together. The websites of these committees can be found on the official website of the Olympic Movement.
