Ashbury Training
Ashbury Training was recently awarded two contracts with the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) to provide bespoke software training courses for employees.
Since 2002, Ashbury Training founders, James Post and Justin Davies, have grown their business into a thriving SME based in Lambeth. They offer bespoke IT training courses on commercial applications and specialty, in-house software systems to large corporations.
Ashbury Training originally found CompeteFor while searching for opportunities related to the 2012 Games on the internet. Once they learned that the system would be the portal for any future opportunities, James immediately registered their business.
James found the whole registration process very easy. ‘The most important thing for us was getting our profile right. The sheer number of opportunities was a bit overwhelming at first, but once we tailored our business categories to match our core offering, we were able to find several contracts that were perfect for us.’

It was while searching the system that James found a contract to supply MS Access Training to the ODA. After applying through CompeteFor, Ashbury Training was selected to design and deliver a bespoke MS Access course for ODA employees. Six months later, they secured another contract to develop a set of tailored short courses giving staff the opportunity to develop their skills in other MS Office applications.
‘The whole experience has been really good for us’ James says. ‘It proved much easier than other public sector contracts we’ve tried applying for and it has opened the door for further opportunities. Our experience dealing with London 2012 and using CompeteFor definitely gave us an advantage when we came to bidding for work with the ODA the second time around.’
