XOR Ltd

For the past 15 years, XOR Ltd has been designing, developing and implementing learning solutions for a range of private and public sector clients.  They used CompeteFor to tender for a contract with the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) to provide an e-learning platform for the Equality and Inclusion team.

Hand on computer mouse XOR heard about CompeteFor at the GO Excellence in Public Procurement Awards 2008, where CompeteFor and the London Development Agency were awarded the GO Collaborative Procurement Award.   Based in East London, XOR were keen to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the Olympics and immediately registered on the site. 

‘The registration process was very easy’ explains John O’Sullivan, ‘As a small business, knowing details like the value of the contract upfront can be invaluable, so we were pleased that the system seemed to emphasise a more streamlined, transparent approach to procurement. We immediately found a number of contracts to apply for and, after a few applications, were shortlisted for the contract with the ODA.’

The ODA chose XOR to provide an Equality and Inclusion E-learning platform for use by construction contractors working on the Olympic Park.   XOR worked with the Equality team to develop the content and structure of the programme which then formed part of a toolkit to help contractors meet the ODA’s requirement for equality training for employees.  

John says, ‘CompeteFor is one of the better procurement websites we use.  I especially appreciate the way the email alerts are tailored by our business categories, so I don’t have to sift through email alerts about contracts that aren’t relevant to us. We have found contracts that we wouldn’t have heard about otherwise, and these have provided great networking opportunities as they introduced us to new clients and contractors some of which we are still working with.‘
